Family Reunification
There are no current emergencies in San Luis Obispo County.
Family reunification is the process of locating and bringing together families as quickly as possible after an emergency. Separation can occur easily during an emergency, especially if family members are in different locations during an evacuation. Communication systems often fail following a disaster, making finding loved ones difficult.
Having a family emergency plan will help reduce the likelihood you will be separated for long periods of time. School and childcare centers should also have emergency plans in place to reunite children with their loved ones following an emergency.
Until families are reunited after an emergency, it is important to stay informed of emergency warnings and updates.
The American Red Cross can help with finding loved ones following an emergency.
